The CMT is a self study course and any extra help is most helpful. I have used Optuma for Levels II and III in Oct 2016 and April 2017 and on both occasions it has helped me a lot. There is no substitute for reading the text thoroughly but watching the videos post reading is an excellent way to reinforce the material. for Level III, I have watched the videos several times. The best part, according to me are the referencing of the learning objectives to material in the text followed by the Forum discussions.
All questions, no matter how basic, are answered almost immediately by Mathew. The free use of the Optuma software, which is available to all registered candidates, is a plus and for Optuma tutorial subscribers the workbooks which reference the material under discussion are a super plus!

I used the Optuma Prep Course for Level III study and passed on the first attempt.
Optuma does a great job summarizing the vast amount of testable material in Level III into digestible chunks of info by way of the course layout. With 850+ pages of text in the Wiley book, it’s very easy to get sidetracked with the minutiae. I found the PDF notes summarized the main points well, refocused my attention to those topics more likely to be tested and for which I needed deeper understanding, and I used the videos for additional clarification as needed for the more difficult material.
The test bank was very helpful as well.
Overall, the course was well worth the money spent.

Optuma was an absolutely critical resource in passing all three levels of the CMT exams. It would have been much more difficult to have sat and passed the exams without your material and easy-to-navigate videos.

Today I got the news that I passed my CMT 3 exam. To be honest, there was no way I was going to pass without the optima course. The textbook is essential, but easy to get lost in. Optima makes you focus on the crucial bits, but after one can always go back to the book for deep dives.

How long does it take to prepare for the CMT Level 3 Exam?
From helping thousands of people pass the CMT exams we can confidently say you will need between 3 to 5 months to study for the exam. This gives you enough time to properly read the textbook, get through our course, and sit a few practice exams. Doing all this gives you the best chance to pass your exam the first time.
How many hours should I study for the CMT Level 3 Exam?
The CMT recommends candidates study around 120-160 hours. The vast majority of this will be purely reading the textbook as our course only takes about 22 hours to complete. Even when you take our course we recommend you read through each chapter of the textbook. Many of our students choose to view the videos more than once to cement the ideas in their mind.
